A csak dudásokból álló zenekar 2002-ben alakult a kiváló muzsikus és zenepedagógus, Rónai Lajos, vezetésével Aszódon. Lajos a zenekar művészeti vezetője és az előadásokon ő az, aki mindig tudja, hogy mi után mi következik. A zenekar magyar dudán játszik, de tagjai közt van olyan, aki tagja volt egy skót dudásbandának is.
A zenekar hetente egyszer, de fellépések előtt többször, tartja próbáit Aszódon a Podmaniczky zeneiskolában (Kossuth L u 72). Az érdeklődők emailt küldhetnek Németh Miklósnak (nemethmik@freemail.hu) illetve telefonon hívhatják Rónai Lajost (+36 20 9217237) vagy Dian Tibort (+36 28 500620). Fontos tudni azonban, hogy hangszerre szükség lesz, aminek ára 70000 - 200000 Ft. Teljesen kezdők számára a legjobb dallamtanuló hangszer az Adorján féle Magyar Elektromos Duda, ami 35000 - 55000 áron szerezhető be. A hangszerek beszerzésben a zenekar tagjai tudnak segíteni. Az elektromos duda a későbbiekben is szinte pótolhatatlan segítség a dallamok tanulásához. A tömlő kezelését azonban csak egy igazi dudán lehet megtanulni, és a fellépéseken sem használható az elektromos duda. Ha valaki megtanult 4 - 5 nótát az elektromos dudán, és még mindig nem ment el a kedve az egésztől, akkor érdemes megvennie az igazi dudáját. Ha időközben elment a kedve vagy kiderül, hogy ez a dolog túl sok erőfeszítést igényel, az elektromos dudát használtan is el lehet adni. A kitartók akár egy év alatt is eljuthatnak arra a szintre, amikor a zenekarral együtt tudnak muzsikálni, és az fantasztikus élmény. Aki teljesen kezdő a dudálásban és úgy érzi egyedül is képes elsajátítatni az alapokat, azok számára biztosítunk egy oktató CD-t (egyenlőre angol nyelven). Ha valakinek rendszeres, a zenekari próbákon kívüli foglalkozásokra/különórákra van szüksége akkor ebben is tudunk tanácsot adni. Lajos is szokott vállalni tanítványokat ha van rá ideje.
Sokan ismerik a magyar mondást "két dudás nem fér meg egy csárdában". Ez feltehetően onnan származik, hogy régebben nagyon nehezen tudtak olyan dudákat készíteni, amiket össze lehetett hangolni. A mostanság készített dudák azonban már egész jól összehangolhatók. Lajos nagyon ért a gyors és szakszerű hangoláshoz, síp- és viaszigazitáshoz a próbákat és előadásokat megelőzően.

Magyar Dudazenekar klubbját,
hogy talpalávalót muzsikáljanak más dudásokkal.
The band menbers regularly visit the pub/club of the Hungarian Bagpipe Band on Tuesday evenings (7PM till midnight) to play dance music with other pipers.

The bagpipe band was established in 2002 in Aszód (a small city 30 miles from Budapest to the East) with the leadership of the great musician and teacher, Lajos Rónai. Lajos is a kind of "pipe major" of the band. The band plays the Hungarian Bagpipe, and one of the members was a member of a Highlanders pipe band as well.
The band has its practices and tuition once a week in the Music School of Aszód (Address: Kossuth L . u 72). New members or visitors should contact Miklos Nemeth (nemethmik@freemail.hu). A Hungarian bagpipe costs $600 - $1500 (500 - 1300 EUR). For beginners the best tune-learning instrument is the Hungarian Electric Chanter ($150 - $220). We are not selling bappipes, but we help you contact the best and reliale makers. The electric chanter may be indispensable later to learn new tunes as well. However, handling the bag (squeezing and blowing while playing) requires a real set. When you have learned five tunes, that is the time to buy a real bagpipe set. For individual learners without an instructor a tutorial computer CD (in English) will be provided. Additional paid tuition is available from various instructors (including Lajos if he has time).
There is a Hungarian proverb "no two pipers can play in the same pub at the same time". Old instruments, hand-made by shepherds, were so different that it was nearly impossible to tune them to the same pitch. However, the Hungarian bagpipe instruments made by the young generation of Hungarian bagpipe makers can be tuned together with some efforts. Lajos is an expert of adjusting the reeds and vax to make the instruments of the band tuned to the (near) same pitch (normally 'A').
